Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to submit through our forms, which currently includes:
Membership form
- Full name
- Father's / husband's name
- CNIC number
- Date of birth (optional)
- Contact number
- Email address
- Residential address
- Occupation (optional)
- Membership type
- Reason for joining (optional)
- A profile picture, uploaded as an image
Your CNIC number and address are used only to confirm your identity and to keep our membership records accurate. Female members may upload any picture of their choice instead of their own photo.
Publications submission form
- Author name
- Contact number (optional)
- CNIC number
- Address (optional)
- Title of the submitted work
- The written piece itself (article, essay, poem, translation, etc.), submitted as text
- An author profile picture, uploaded as an image
Only your name, the title, your piece, and your profile picture are shown on the website, and only after review. Your CNIC number, contact number, and address are never displayed publicly.

Any information you choose to include when you send us a message through our contact form.
File uploads
Where a form includes a file upload field, the file is stored securely and a link to it is saved together with your submission.
Purpose of collecting information
We collect information only to keep The Opinions transparent and accountable — so that we know who our members and authors are, and so that every published piece can be traced to a real author. We do not collect information for any other purpose.
How we use it

- To generate and issue your digital membership card once your membership is approved
- To review, select, and publish submitted work on this website
- To respond to messages sent through the contact form
- To keep our records accurate, transparent, and reviewable
Digital membership card
Once your membership request is approved, we issue you a digital membership card using the details you provided on the membership form (such as your name and registration/roll number). The card is generated for identification within The Opinions community and to confirm that you may submit your work to us on an ongoing basis. It is issued to you directly and is not shared with anyone outside our team without your consent.
Safety & non-sharing of information
All information we collect is kept safe and secure. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
- Access to submitted forms is restricted to administrators, who must log in with a password-protected account.
- Administrator sessions are protected with secure, time-limited access.
- Your contact details (phone number, email, roll number) are never displayed publicly.
- Only the content you submit for publication — such as your name, your piece, and your author photo or bio — appears on the website, and only after review.
The only exceptions are where disclosure is required by law, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of our community.
Service providers & external links
To run this website we rely on trusted technical service providers for hosting, file storage, and displaying fonts. They handle data only on our behalf and only to keep the website working; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. As with any website, loading content from an external provider may reveal your device's IP address to that provider.
Our website also contains links to external websites and social platforms. Once you leave our website, those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Notifications
If you choose to allow notifications, your browser or device is given an anonymous identifier so that we can notify you about new content. This is entirely optional, and you can switch notifications off at any time from your browser or device settings.
Blog
The posts in our blog section are written and published by our own team — covering current affairs, historical topics, and other educational content for students, teachers, and general readers. Simply reading the blog does not require you to submit any personal information to us. Our forms are intended for university students and teachers and are not directed at children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will remove it.
